Succor came the way of Ogga community in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi state, as the Kogi state government completed an abandoned water scheme and also went ahead to provide it with a power plant.
The Commissioner to the Governor of Kogi State on Rural Development Hon. Paul Enema was on site to inspect the project and to make sure it was thoroughly completed. He implored the community to be very vigilant so that the equipment are not vandalized.
Speaking, the traditional ruler of Ogga community, thanked his Excellency, the Executive Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his timely intervention in coming to their aid and completing the water scheme, thereby solving the perennial water problem that has beleaguered the community for so long.
The contract was awarded during the previous administration and was abandoned by the contractors, who upon mobilization to site, did a haphazard job and disappeared into the thin air.
It would be recalled that the some weeks back, the Executive governor of Kogi state set up a commission to look into abandoned project from previous administration, in a bid to recover funds that have found their ways into private pockets. The governor used the occasion to reiterate and pledged to complete all laudable projects abandoned across the state, as they will have direct bearing on the standard of living of the people.
