YAGBA Elder's Council has commended Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for appointing one of their sons , Alhaji Asiwaju Asiru Idris (AAA) as Commissioner and Dr. (Mrs) AYOADE FOLASHADE ARIKE as the Secretary to the state government.They described the appointments as a way of fostering unity in the state.
The council in a letter of solidarity addressed to the governor in Lokoja stated; “What you have done by the appointments has demonstrated that you are a detribalised Kogite who is only committed to the promotion of the unity we have in our diversity.”
According to the letter signed by its President General, Engr. Olalekan Michael, “Your action has further shown that your philosophy is that of one Kogite irrespective of tribes, religion, political and senatorial district differences worthy of emulation by others in the position of authority in Nigeria.”
He also prayed that God will give the governor wisdom, strength and good health required to steer the ship of Kogi State to safety.
He then assured the governor of the loyalty and support of all Yagba people in Kogi State. According to him, “We cannot forget this honour done to us as Yagba, we will stick to you at all times and ensure that your administration succeeded in all its efforts at developing the state better.
